How to Have Your Own Little Happy Hour Anywhere

Yes, Napa is lucky to have more than its fair share of world class restaurants. You can’t beat the amazing food, great ambiance, and excellent service but, we get it…sometimes you just want to avoid the crowds and keep things simple. Fortunately, thanks to so many Napa restaurants offering online ordering of cocktails-to-go, it’s easier than ever to create your own little happy hour anywhere! Treat yourself to Napa’s finest food and cocktails while on a picnic, hanging out with friends at your Airbnb or, if you’re feeling less than social, just hunkering down at home. There’s still plenty of great weather ahead in the Napa Valley so we’ve highlighted 5 refreshing cocktails that can be ordered online and taken to your favorite destination to enjoy these last days of summer. Cheers!

Jax White Mule Diner

Jax White Mule Diner’s Iced Bulleit Proof Coffee

Skip the usual Sunday morning mimosa! Instead, do yourself a favor and head over to Jax White Mule Diner in downtown Napa and try their iced Bulleit Proof Coffee. Trust us, with a combo of brown butter infused Bulleit bourbon, Ohm nitro cold brew coffee, simple syrup, and a sprinkling of cinnamon, you will want to make this a weekend ritual! If you’re looking to supplement your Bulleit Proof coffee with actual food, you can’t miss with their breakfast sando that includes a choice of fries, hash browns, tots, fruit, or salad (hint: their tots are famous for good reason). The coffee is served in a 12 oz. plastic cup for $12.00.

Ca’ Momi

Ca’ Momi’s Garden Mule

Known for their “obsessively authentic” Italian food, Ca’ Momi is a favorite restaurant in downtown Napa that’s equally known for their “heartcraft” cocktails. For instance, you can’t go wrong with their delicious, fresh-from-the-garden beverage, the Garden Mule! It’s crafted with basil infused vodka, cock n bull ginger beer, house-made organic ginger shrub, & fresh organic lime juice. Bonus – their cocktails come in these cute little 8 ounce canning jars and are $15 each. Order one of their famous pizzas to go and you’re all set for a perfect evening.

Farmstead

Farmstead’s Porch Swing

Nothing says summer like a “Porch Swing”. This popular drink is found at one of our favorite spots, Farmstead in St. Helena. Served in a charming 16 oz. bottle, this drink is ready to go. Created with Tanteo jalapeno tequila, fresh watermelon, homemade basil sour, agave nectar and lime, all you have to do is shake it up and pour over ice. What keeps this drink so refreshing is that it’s not too sweet. It has just the right amount of spice to make it interesting without overwhelming the fresh watermelon flavor. Although the Porch Swing may seem a little pricey at $24, it packs a punch and is plenty to share with a friend. In addition, pair it with their mini ham sandwiches served on cheddar biscuits, and smoked chicken wings with their addicting Alabama white sauce, and you have the makings of a perfect picnic!

Torc

Torc’s Trader Vic’s 1944 Mai Tai

Ahh, the Mai Tai. What more can we say? If you’re looking for a taste of the islands in Napa Valley, order up the 1944 Trader Vic’s Mai Tai from Torc on Main Street in downtown Napa. Although this drink actually originated in Oakland, it’s become synonymous with island life. Be forewarned though, this version is not your syrupy-sweet Polynesian variety Mai Tai. Instead it’s more in line with the original more pungent version created back in 1944 by Victor J. Bergeron, aka Trader Vic. Still quite refreshing with rum, orange curacao, lime, and macadamia orgeat, it’s a taste that quickly grows on you. A 12 oz. bottle with 2 servings is $19. Try it with their delicious deviled eggs and sweet potato pakoras for a tasty appetizer.

C Casa

C Casa’s SABÉ Mojito

Located at the Oxbow in downtown Napa, C Casa is a taqueria known for their fresh mix of ingredients and handmade, gluten free, white corn tortillas. They offer their version of the Mojito made with SABÉ Gold (aged Barbados Gold Rum and Japanese Sake). This is combined with fresh squeezed lime juice, sugar cane simple syrup, fresh mint and Fever Tree soda water. The refreshing tartness of the lime juice really comes through to make this a thirst quenching beverage. An 8oz jar serves 2 drinks for $16. Create your own Happy Hour with the SABÉ mojito and a pile of their crispy tortilla chips and housemade guacamole. Que Bueno!
