Ox and Fox Deviled Eggs

Ox and the Fox Always Feels Like Happy Hour!

Ox and the Fox, everyone’s new favorite hang in downtown Napa, likes to keep the prices down for their generously-portioned bites and drinks. They have a nice variety on their beer and wine menu. We tried the 2towns Ciderhouse on draft and found it refreshing with a little tartness for $7. Good news to our Happy Hour Napa ears is that Ox and the Fox just scored a liquor license. They were still in the process of stocking the bar, but we tried a simple tequila and grapefruit juice that was delicious and delightful. Hot tip – be sure to request salt in the rim.

Ox and Fox Cocktails

For grub Ox and the Fox is the perfect spot for sharing seasonal goodies (menu occasionally changes). The Deviled eggs ($5) have a nice kick in the pants with a smoked chili filling.

The sweet potato fritters ($9)  are worth a try with unique flavors including mustard seed caviar. For a little heartier fare we shared grilled peach burrata ($14) which is just how you would imagine summer tastes, and the smoked pork ribs ($15) include the perfect compliments of apple-sesame slaw and dilly pickles.

Ox and the Fox is located in the heart of downtown Napa, with indoor and outdoor seating options. To cap off your evening, pop into Annette’s Chocolates right next door for a truffle or house-made ice cream to keep you company on the walk home.
